eduardosa
Hello guys, First, I know that there's an incompatibility issue between iatkos and 965 chipsets but I was wondering if there's a patch or anything that would fix it. I have a VAIO FZ140E with Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset. Before knowing about this issue I tried three different versions of iAtkos with no success and even got all my partitions deleted by a mistake. When installing I had no problems, but after when I was going to boot it went to the apple logo screen and then to a blue screen and later to a striped white and black screen, and then it freezed. Any help will be much appreciated, I really want to run OS X on my laptop. Thank you. MrHappyPhil
Sounds like you are talking about the Intel 965 video chipset? I have a Dell Latitude D630 and has the same kind of problem you describe. The way I fixed it is on page 14 of this thread http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...0&start=260 I would grab the list of files from the first post (where he talks about removing kext files before the first reboot) and just remove them. I did the rm -rf AppleIntel* and I think I may have deleted more than I should have but the system still works. MrHappyPhil
No problem. I have only been doing this for a few days but just wanted to also pass along. I updated to 10.5.3 this morning using http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 and when it rebooted I was at 1200x800x32 with accelerated graphics!!! I had a bit of a scare at first because the screen went black for about a min... The hard drive was spinning like mad so I just waited for it to stop but before it did the display came up and has been working great! My big reason for doing this was because I wanted to be able to use VMware Fusion which didnt work with the generic video driver... No I skipped 10.5.2 and went straight to 10.5.3... Video just worked... But my laptop keyboard and touchpad quit working and am currently trying to get that fixed because I will not travel with a usb keyboard and mouse... dannyf
Sorry to hi jack this thread. But i have a 915GM chipset and i get past the grey boot screen with apple logo. then it goes to a blue screen and all activity stops. Should i plug in a monitor? Or should the 2-wire trick work? Also, is there any .kexts i should install for my chipset. Sorry about this and thanks for any help Dan. Also please note that I did have to follow all the post install driver updates on page 1 so that the monitor would recover from sleep mode. If you check the first post in this thread there are the steps to remove all the intel kexts and installing the proper modified kexts for that chipset (its the same one I have and I had that issue at first as well). hi guys, i have D630 with 965 shipset.
