kernel panics after Kalyway 10.5.1 install

I was successful installing Kalyway on my IBM ThinkPad X31, but this desktop seems to be giving me problems.

I've been following Coadey's GA-EP35-DS4 install guide for a retail install, but I'm running into kernel panics after installing the initial Kalyway 10.5.1. If I boot in verbose mode, the system just hangs. I've left it alone for about 10 minutes, but it doesn't boot any further (although the system doesn't always actually say that there has been a kernel panic).

I've tried installing Kalyway both with and without the vanilla kernel, but the system still hangs. The system hangs at a slightly different point every time it boots -- there is no consistant point of failure. Generally, however, it's a little after mDNSResponder loads.

I found the problem: during my numerous Kalyway installs, I had been selecting to install NVinject — mistakenly assuming that this would support my NVIDIA 8800 GT (G92). NOT selecting NVinject resulted in a smooth install.
