I've been reading up about why i'm having such a hard time installing KALYWAY 10.5.1 dvd. I've come across a lot of people having the problem where the computer reboots just before it gets to the GUI part of the install. I'm also having the same issue. Funny thing is, is that a few times it actually made it to the GUI part of the install. Though at the time I didn't have my sata drive configered as ACHPI or what ever it has to be. The 2nd time it actually made it to the GUI I but I accidentally forgot the do the MBR option during the custom install. So the install completed but it wouldn't boot. So i'd say out of 30 tries its only booted sucessfull 2 times. I've tried the -v -s -f -x also the cpus=1

This is on a P4 3.2

the motherboard is a ASUS P5N-EM HDMI LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7100/nForce 630i HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

with 2 gigs of DDR2 533 ram.

I'v memtested the ram for 9 passes. Ram looks good. I've also tried a USB DVD drive. First time I tried it with just the -v it booted and completed the setup (that was the time I forgot the MBR option)

Upon the next install attempt using the same disc, same USB DVD drive and the same -v, the setup rebooted before making it to the GUI setup.

I tell ya what. Geesh!!

Any ideas?

i think i have the same exact problem

so you

1. turn your computer on

2. it starts to boot

3. u hit f8

4. u hit -v

5. you wait probley 10 seconds

6. your computer restarts?

if this is the same thing u r doing then i am gonna try mine a few more times cuz then i know it will work atleast once -_- then jsut not turn my computer off ever again lol
