MrFoo
Lots of people ask, before installation, "Do I have SSE3? How can I tell?" The answer is often "Go download the free CPU-Z utility for Windows, run it, and it will tell you." What if you're happily running Kalyway 10.5.2, and note that the update to 10.5.3 requires SSE3. You can't remember if you have SSE3 or merely SSE2. 10.5.2. Kalyway 10.5.2 had support for both. So how can you tell? You can't use CPU-Z, because you're already running OS X? Apple Freak
There are two ways: 1. If you installed the proper kext for your CPU, in System Profiler, you will be able to see it on the the first menu when it's opened. 2. Reboot your computer and use "-v", after the extensions are loaded, at the very top of the OS X booting menu, just right after the "...California University..." it will say. But you go to be quick, because it just falsh for less then a second. I hope that helps you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112284-determine-presence-of-sse2-sse-et-al-while-already-running-os-x/#findComment-794753 Share on other sites
