Ae3 Boomer Posted June 23, 2008 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Hello ppl I am a noob at Most mac things like kernels and stuff like that and I would very much apreciate it if you guys/gals could help me Firs of all here are my Specs Celeron D 2.93ghz (2.93 Unknown) 512mb of ram 1 hitachi 140 gb HDD Part1 Mac HDD (Ae3Macrosoft) Part2 Time Machine HDD (TimeMachine) Part3 Downloads Pics Vids ECT. (Downloads) Hp DVDrw nvidia 6200 Now Here are the Q's 1 Does mac have anything like "CTRL+ALT+DEL" like in windows 2 Ive just updated to leopard using kalyway 5.1 than i used his combo updates to get to 5.3 with the modbin 9.3 and now Time machine causes the hole system to freeze Is that common 3 is there a way to make boot options automatic? for instance instead of me typing -v every boot can i make it boot with -v as the default? 4 Safari Is Going at DIAL UP SPEEDS and ive tried exchangeing the leo network kexts with tiger's. opera and transmission are doing fine so its realy not that big of a deal just wondering why Thats about it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112162-noob-problemsquestions/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
mtrog007 Posted June 23, 2008 Share Posted June 23, 2008 1: Not really control alt delete, but you do have most control commands with the command button if you have.. lets say an apple keyboard 2: Yes it's common, there are general fixes for the time machine... I will be getting an external hd soon and will probably have a general problem also 3: Is your mac part of your computer set to startup disk? I think that would solve the problem.
