No LAN or sound after iATKOS 2.0 install:

Quad Q9300

Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4

8GB Gskill DDR2 1066 memory

EVGA 8600GT 256mb

IDE DVD drive

Corsair HW620W Power Supply

3 SATA drives

Kalyway 10.5.2 Install Disk - stalls @ 2min - did not work

iATKOS 2.0 10.5.2 - Works! :thumbsup_anim:

North Bridge Intel X38

South Bridge Intel ICH9R

Audio Chipset Realtek ALC889A

LAN Chipset Realtek 8111B

It took a few days to identify the LAN problem and find a solution: ***DaemonES Realtek Driver***

Instructions:

"First you must load debug version (in terminal type sh loaddebug). If everything is OK type sh unloaddebug. After that install release version (sh installrelease). Release version faster, that debug, cause debug version logging every packet and every OS system call."

"open terminal window, then open RealtekR1000.kext dir from terminal and type sh installrelease"

What!

I know what terminal is but I have no idea how to open a folder with it. I don't speak unix nor do I understand the instructions. Anyone have a simple guide?

------------

Found an installer for DaemonES Realtek Driver at this web site:

Warning - used the installer and it hosed my iATKOS 2.0 install. I rebooted to a dead screen without boot completion, I rebooted again into safe mode (-x) and now it requires me to type my root password to login and complete boot, WTF! Tried my backup extension folder but too late. I still don't see my shared G5 Mac and memory now has 5GB wired with nothing running. It also took a long time to run this installer, what was it doing?

Erased and reinstall iATKOS. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! :thumbsdown_anim:

-----------------

Rummaged around and found a LAN driver that comes with an installer from Realtek FTP.

and 2.0

Tried both, they work for internet but my shared G5 server still does not, the shared Mac shows up but I cannot login/connect to it to download files for some reason, both versions have this problem, will have to try and learn Mac unix, there goes a week waiting on a book and learning it, oh god help me, dos still gives me nightmares!

Any solutions anyone? Thanks in advance.
