18tjetta
I am thinking of selingl my a64 3800+ newcastle chip and buy a 945 board and intel chip to work with osx. But i may keep it if i can get it to work well with osx. The chip has SSE2 but not SSE3, how well will it run without sse2? I hear it won't run rosetta? Is there a work around for this yet? Thank you! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11198-probelms-with-non-sse3-a64s/ Share on other sites
Jason_25
I have noticed this. I cannot run skype with a SSE2 Winchester A64. I can run skype with a SSE2 Northwood Celeron. Identical installs. letni
I have noticed this. I cannot run skype with a SSE2 Winchester A64. I can run skype with a SSE2 Northwood Celeron. Identical installs. Skype needs to have that Lawsuite handed to them pretty quickly by AMD. AMD by far has suporior CPUs (per mhz). The Dual core Athlons are SOOO much better designed than the current Pentium D cpus. I wish people wouldn't fall into this I have to have Intel BS ("caugh... Dell"). The P4 is such a BS architecture.
