ashiya Posted June 20, 2008 Share Posted June 20, 2008 I've been curious about installing Mac OSX on a PC and decided to give this a try. I've downloaded the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel Amd iso and then ran it. I tried using vanilla, -v and then -x -f, which generated the error message below. I've tried using iATKOS, ToH and Leo4all ISO files, but none of them go this far. I've managed to get stuck here and I'm clueless as to how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running an ASUS F8Sn laptop with the following specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66Ghz (Santa Rosa) Intel PM965 Crestline 800Mhz FSB + ICH8M (<--- I've read that this causes issues?) 3GB DDR2 667FSB Memory 250GB SATA HDD NVidia Geforce 9500 GS 512MB CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page: p=41[configd] clearing CS_VALID Jun 20 10:18:11 localhost diskarbitrationd[44]: CoreRAIDServer [43]:16395 not responding. panic(cpu 0 caller 0x49F6AD46): "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::buildCPUsPSSArray - got _PSS data for cpu index 2, but expected index\n"@/SourceCache/IOPlatformPluginFamily-315.0.3/ACPI_SMC_Platform_Plugin/ACPI_SMCPlatformPlugi Debugger called: <panic> Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x4259fd78 : 0x12b0e1 (0x45833c 0x4259fdac 0x133285 0x0) 0x4259fdc8 : 0x49f6ad46 (0x49f70bb8 0x2 0x1 0x40bcd0) 0x4259fe08 : 0x49f6c107 (0x61b1200 0x5b70c00 0x4259fe48 0x40baa5) 0x4259fe48 : 0x40fd2e (0x61b1200 0x5cbca00 0x1 0x3ea6c0) 0x4259fea8 : 0x411bc3 (0x5cbca00 0x61b1200 0x678bfc0 0x67878e0) 0x4259ff28 : 0x411427 (0x5cbca00 0x678b040 0x0 0x3ef519) 0x4259ff78 : 0x4100a3 (0x5cbca00 0x8 0x4259ffac 0x1) 0x4259ffc8 : 0x49f3cc (0x677c080 0x0 0x1a20b5 0x5d21208) Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin(3.1.5d3)@0x49f68000->0x49f73fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.4.1)@0x4224a000 dependency: com.apple.driver.AppleSMC(2.0.1d2)@0x49f51000 dependency: com.apple.driver.IOPlatformPluginFamily(3.1.5d3)@0x49f5a000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.2.0)@0x42260000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Mac OS version:9C2015 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111753-first-installation-on-an-asus-laptop/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
ashiya Posted June 21, 2008 Author Share Posted June 21, 2008 I tried burning the Leo4All-10.5.2 using ImgBurn at 2x speed, reformatted my entire HDD to 3 partitions, 2 FAT32 drives and one NTFS (I plan to reinstall Vista later). Ran it with cpus=1 -x -f -s tags and got to here: Got boot device = IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@o/AppleACPIPCI/IDE0@1F,1/AppleIntelPIIXATARoot/CHN0@0/ AppleIntelPIIXPATA/ATADeviceNub@0/IOATAPIProtocolTransport/IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceNub/ IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType05/IODVDServiceIDV BSD root: disk1s2, major 14, minor 6 jnl: unknown-dev: open: phys_blksz 2048 does not match journal header size 512 ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure. Singleuser boot -- fsck not done Root device is mounted read-only So I follow the directions given and type in /sbin/mount -uw / and then I get this: disk1s2: device is write locked. 0 [Level 3] [ReadUID 0] [Facility com.apple.system.fs] [Errtype IO] [ErrNo 13] [IOType Write] [PBlkNum 1337] [LBlkNum 1337] [FSLogMsgID 1272986961] [FSLogMsgOrder First] 0 [Level 3] [ReadUID 0] [Facility com.apple.system.fs] [DevNode devfs] [MountPt /dev] [Path /dev/disk1s2] [FSLogMsgID 1272986961] [FSLogMsgOrder Last] jnl: unknown-dev: do_jnl_io: strategy err 0xd jnl: unknown-dev: end_transaction: only wrote 0 of 124928 bytes to the journal! After exiting the prompt "sh-3.2#" I believe, I also get a 0x05fc7f00 Journal is invalid messsage as well, and then a slew of "disk1s2: device is write locked." messages. Should I try Kalyway 10.5.1? iATKOS never goes beyond the ACPIPlatformPlugin has two dependencies error, and neither does ToH x86 RC2.
