So this is my first time with the Mac OS, so I'm extremely new to this.

Anyway, I installed the Kalyway 10.5.2 Mac OS X, and it installed fine (even allowed me to dual boot into XP still :jester: ).

There are a few problems:

- I cant put in a CD/DVD and boot it from startup (even with the Bios set to boot from optical drive first). [Not a major issue at the moment].

- The sound is muted all the time, I can increase/decrease the sound volume (the Mac sound level thing comes up), but I cant hear anything.

But the big problem I have is that the only way I can boot into Mac OSX is via an external monitor. If I try and boot without it, I get a bluescreen (after the grey screen with the apple logo) and no matter how long I wait it doesnt get to the 'desktop'.

Now I know there are other people with this issue because I've search these forums and they all come up with different solutions, half of which I do not know how to do certain things (new at Macs).

I have an Intel GMA950 intergrated graphics card (laptop), and was wondering how exactly I can get the laptop screen working. A lot of people are saying things like replacing kext files and stuff in /System/Library/Extensions/ but I don't know how to do this.

This Person seamed to have success with replacing/adding a file but i didnt do the 10.5.1 install and then patch/upgrade to 10.5.2, and I don't know how to run this 1052KernelSystemPatch (or even what/where it is) that he is talking about. :P

Anyhelp would be very much appreciated.

Hi, I successfully installed iDeneb 10.5.4 on my nx7400 the other day. All I did was disabling the "enable dual core" option in the BIOS. For audio, this thread http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...3&hl=nx7400 solved it perfectly. Give that a go if you wish.
