I bought the Trendnet TEW-623PI for my hack because I saw that it was supported out of the box in the wireless section on the HCL.

Now that I have the card it's not working. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help.

I suspect you have the newer model which uses the ralink chipset so it wont be natively supported but you can get the raling drivers to make the card work.

Thanks for the help. I installed the 10.4 PCI driver from here http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Macintosh.html since there was no 10.5 driver for PCI. It didn't work.

Ok after a little more digging, I found another driver for 10.5 that works.found it here http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.2#Wireless

It works, although its wicked, wicked slow. So slow that I can't even use it. Anyone else have the same problems?

You get what you paid for.

I paid $50 for it. I'm not expecting it to set the world on fire with blazing speed, but it should at least out perform B, which it doesn't even come close to doing. It's worse then dial up if you have ever used that. It could be the antennas, but i think it must be the driver. I have a mac mini right on top of my hackintosh and the has an internal wireless G chip, which I currently use as a big expensive wireless adapter for my hack. So I'm guessing it's the driver. Do you have any other recommendations for a good PCI solution?
