first of all, i have the following specs (a laptop):

file.php.gif

I have tried to load several disc image from my DVD but none works. I have got the same issue for all the discs I have, which is system config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found. then I press F8. I tried -v as well, the same error message appears.

Then i was searching around and I read somewhere saying I probably need a SATA DVDrom to boot. is that true? I don't gather enough information regarding that matter.

But if it is true, how would I get a SATA to connect to my laptop? An external drive will definitely connecting thru a USB port anyway.

Is there other option?

Well, CPU-Z isn't a great start to giving specs on your laptop. Model, manufacturer, lspci readout, etc. would help because all you've given so far is information about the processor, which doesn't seem to be related to your problem. Also, information about what discs you are using would help.

Doesn't mean I can answer you question, but nobody can if you don't give the proper information.
