theman123
Hey everyone, I decided to get into OSX86 (aka newb at it). Got the ISO version (pheNIX release) of 10.4.1. Wiped a hard drive I don't need- used PartitionMagic to convert the drive to one primary raw/unformatted partition. Whenever I try installing it from the DVD it gives the "still waiting for root device" message. So I've tried using "rd=disk0s1" with every combination of verbose mode and safe mode. It gets further at least and detects the drive but I always get a panic error. Here's the last few lines. BSD root:disk0s1, major 14, minor 1 nfs_boot:networking is not initialized panic(cpu 0 caller 0xC0265EA6): nfs_boot_init failed with 6 Debugger called: <panic> Then it shows all sorts of debug information. I would really really appriciate it if someone could help me with this, or at least steer me in the right direction. Thanks! theman123
I'm sorry for double posting but it has been awhile. And over 50 views, no replies. I just need some basic guidance on what to do next because as far as I know I'm out of options.
