CaptainNemo
Hi guys, last week I got my 8core Mac Pro and I'm VERY satisfied with this beast So I put my old Hackintosh into a 4U Servercase which fits perfectly to our Receiver and connected it with the Receiver (SPDIF/Optical) and the LCD projector. I run EyeTV 3 with my Terratec Cinergy T2 which works perfect - even with the Remote Control that comes with the Terratec USB-Box. But there's one thing I would love to use: Controlling the whole Hackintosh with my Remote Control. I read that I'm unable to use the Apple Remote Control with my USB-Box which is sad - anyway - does anyone here knows a software like a "Media Center" for the Mac that lets me use TV & FrontRow/AppleTV-Stuff in one App without having to switch with a keyboard and mouse? That would be great!! Ciao Nemo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111052-how-to-build-a-mce-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
SticMAC™
I have an HP DV6716ez that the remote works ONLY in Front Row ! I set Front Row in my startup options to start so when the machine is switched on it boots, logs in and automatically starts Front Row! Viola!! Media Center! If I need to add something, i switch my bluetooth keyboardon, MacOS picks it up and links to it, then press escape, and add whatever I need! CaptainNemo
Sounds good - what kinda IrDA Receiver do you use for this? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111052-how-to-build-a-mce-hackintosh/#findComment-786625 Share on other sites
SticMAC™
the HP came with a built-in IR and Remote, there is no driver or anything loaded(lucky i guess!), it might be hardcoded? It's the same as the media buttons(volume, ffwd, rewind, stop and play) on the top case they all just work! SticMAN Sounds good - what kinda IrDA Receiver do you use for this? CaptainNemo
Hi guys, it's me again. Sitting in the livingroom and trying to get "MediaCentral" to work. Sounds a bit better than the OSXMBC, because it includes DVB-T which I use here and have connected with my Terratec Cinergy T2. The problem on the hackintosh is: when I launch the app, it's in the dock, but nothing happen. When I close the app it blends to black and I hear a short sound, then it quits. Any ideas?
