I've been trying for four days now to install Kalyways Tiger 10.4.10 with no success on my computer (specs are in my signature).

I can run the install fine, it goes through and completes the install with no problems, but when I boot for the first time, it has a kernel panic saying stuff to do with 'NVDAResman' and 'GeForce'. I can't remember all of them.

I've tried different graphics drivers (the disc comes with Natit 0.1, Natit 0.2, Titan and NVIDIA Mobility Drivers), and I've tried all of them (except the mobility ones because I don't have a laptop), and none of them work. When installing them, I've also changed the IOPCIMatch code to what my card needs (0x042110de), and that does nothing to help.

I've also downloaded NVInject for 8x00 series NVIDIA cards and that didn't work either. I've deleted all the NVIDIA extensions in hope that the standard drivers may work but that did nothing.

I really want this to go because it took ages to download, so I'd rather not download another distro.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get it to go? Has anyone else had this problem?

At first looking, I see many things you can't see for a starter guy. First thing first, you have an nForce chipst. Ok:Houston we have a problem!!! Cause' nVidia are {censored} and capricious. Needed specific setup to work correctly. It's not my part to say how, you'd a tons of guides in this site...

Second, you have an AMD Athlon x2 4600+.. That means clearly you need an install disc specify for AMD instructions like Zephyroth. Kalyway, JaS and iAtkos for example are made for Intel based CPU x86. Doesn't mind if the description said AMD but at my super memory, Zephyroth is the only one for AMD.

Hope you will reply ! LoL! <_<

I read on the guides and all that, that the nForce 4 will work, but SATA is dodgy and all drivers for the nForce SATA are SLOW so I'm installing on a 40GB IDE hard drive (which I might later clone onto a SATA drive)

I downloaded an ISO which came with a PPF file for patching AMD CPUs, so I put that in with PPF-O-Matic or whatever the program was and I chose to install that. When I choose to not install it it will show the Darwin bootmenu, but then reboot when it starts booting the kernel, but when I do install it it gets past that and starts booting, so no it can't be the AMD chip.

Thanks for the help, but I don't think that's what's wrong.
