comatron Posted June 16, 2008 Share Posted June 16, 2008 cheers. i just sold my acer5220 which worked perfectly but was just too slow for me . now i got the above mentioned notebook. here are the specs: - core2duo t8100 (2.1ghz) - works, but NOT vanilla - help! - ICH8/P965 chipset - works - 2 gig ram (1 gig was pre-installed in 1 bar) - works - geforce 7300 go - works with full ci/qe - 1680x1050 glossy screen (VERY nice!!!) - works - LG DVD-DL-RW - works - 160 GIG WD caviar - works - Intel 4965 AGN wireless - NOT working yet - getting my old broadcom one back wich works ootb - broadcom lan (ven14E4 - dev1713) - NOT working yet - usbcam in case - works ootb - Realtek Audio (ALC861-VD / dev0862) - works with fix (speaker, line, mic in) - internal mic does NOT work - fingerprint sensor - recognized ootb, useless - firewire - works ootb = 650 € in germany - which is NOT much for such a thingy!!! (display, gfx and cpu rock!) - i set up many systems before so i am wondering, why no vanilla kernel will run. netkas 9.2 kernel runs nice. i flashed to the latest bios (may 2008) to force bios to recognize cache size of the t8100 correctly. there are no options for the cpu in this bios. ahci is set. cpuz shows nx-flag, sse4.1 and bla. should all be enabled. me wants vanilla please mabe you can help. - internal mic would be very nice too - maybe you can help - is there maybe a fix for the lan? feel free to talk about this great maschine ... share youre knowledge for the rest of us Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110947-lenovo-3000-n200-0769-k2g/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

ioreknanou Posted July 6, 2008 Share Posted July 6, 2008 Hi comatron, I don't know why your processor is not working altough it should, but I would like to know if your old broadcom wifi is working. I am going to buy a Lenovo laptop this week and will need to change the wifi card but from what I have seen, some HP/compaq and IBM laptop refuses to boot if it doesnt have its own wifi card.
