msun2000
I found an older driver for Tiger and tried it on Leopard (9.2.2) but it didn't work. Has anyone got lucky on FX5500 Quadro working with Leopard? aqua-mac
Should work fine, I have used one for sometime. You can use gfx strings or NVInject. You will have to do a little bit of editing for 1024 mb of ram. msun2000
Will QE be supported after editing? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110944-nvidia-fx5500-quadro-for-leopard-anyone/#findComment-786602 Share on other sites
aqua-mac
Well it should be but there are other considerations like your hardware. There are no guarantees in OSX86, only if you copy a setup that has already been verified. Do you actually have one? There are better cards to get at far lower prices for OSX86 or are you intending to use it in cad in windows. msun2000
I actually has a Quadro FX5500 with 1GB VRAM, so I'm really curious about what this monster can do I guess I'll start from NVinject 0.2.1. aqua-mac
I will be interested to hear how you get on. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110944-nvidia-fx5500-quadro-for-leopard-anyone/#findComment-789845 Share on other sites
msun2000
Well NVinject 0.2.1 loaded fine but it says QE is not supported. Is there a property in Info.plist I can change to make it "supported"? aqua-mac
If you have EFI v8 installed you might be better trying GFX STRINGS. How much memory is shown in system profiler? msun2000
Hmmm, I used xcode to modify Info.plist under NVinject, and changed "VRAM,totalsize" from 00000010 to 00000040 (1GB), removed Extension.mkext then rebooted, but System profiler still shows 256MB, and the "debice_type" shows "NVDA,GeForce" instead of "Quadro FX5500" that's given in the file.
