ravagilli
Hello, I have a Fujitsu Siemens V5505 laptop with the following specs; Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.00ghz 4MB Cache 4 GB 667mhz DDR2 samsung RAM Intel 965 chipsetIntel ICH8-M SATA Controller Intel GMA X3100 Graphics (Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x2a02 Revision ID: 0x0003) Intel High Definition Audio (Device ID: 0x1734110E) Connextant chip it seems from searching on forums! Intel 3945 Wifi (Known that this doesn't work, replacement coming shortly) Realtek 811B-GR NIC 10/100/1000 mbps Western Digital 250gb HDD Optiarc 7540A DVD-RW The problem is that the install goes well, it restarts and everything is ok. Once restarted again it wont boot normally, will only safe boot, but then i get no sound. So when booting in verbose mode -v, i dont really get any errors it just a couple of things and it seems to hang in differant places. It worked on the iATKOS v1 r2, but little things like battery indicator didn't work OOB. Also the performance in iATKOS 2 is much better. I've selected the rquired drivers on install, the X3100 e.t.c and i've also tried it without, still to no sucess.Upon searching the internet, the general idea i'm given is that, if i can boot into safe mode then there is no real problem with my installation just a misconfiguration of a kext or something somewhere. Only thing is i dont know where to look for errors or logs on things as such. Also does anyone have any advice on the given information? or would i be required to post some more information, log files, system specs, e.t.c for somebody to help me.Any help would be much appreciated Dominic Also just a note, when booting normally and not entering any boot parameters, -v or as such, it gets past the grey loading screen and goes to the blue background. I get no cursor and this is where it hangs. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110796-help-iatkos-v2-on-fujitsu-siemens-v5505/ Share on other sites
ravagilli
Right, update: I've installed the apple graphics update, now i can boot but only if i run in -s mode first. Then i have to do /sbin/fsck -fy , run the check then reboot and it boots fine. But i have to do this every time i switch off the machine and its rather annoying, other than that when its working i can do full resolution on internal and external monitors, and full support for quartz. If anyone knows of the solution to this problem then please don't hesitate to get in touch with me Regards Dominic Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110796-help-iatkos-v2-on-fujitsu-siemens-v5505/#findComment-790872 Share on other sites
