Backing up my OSX install

Hello all,

 

I've installed osx to an external USB.

I'd like to experiment with updating it, but before that i want to be able to do a backup of

the whole drive.

 

If anyone can suggest a way to do it, preferably by using Windows, connecting the drive and

somehow creating an image of it & storing it in the Windows drive. Restoring should also work

the same way...
