Intel 915P + ICH6 ata help....

Anyone who wants to help me with this would be greatly appreciated. Ive lost many nights of sleep over trying to get the damn installer to recognize my internal ata drive on my lappy, all without success. Heres my specs: Alienware 7700 lappy, with Intel 915P + ICH6 (clevo D900T mobo). The controller is 82801FB/FBM SMBus Controller. The drive is a seagate ST9100823A ata 100gb. Basically ive tried everything. Yes, ive formated the drive id=AF, which doesnt matter anyways, becuse disk utility should be able to detect it no matter what. Ive wipped my windows and game partition and set it up factory with one partition of 100gig of unused space. Ive tried messing with bios settings, except for some reason alienware uses the {censored}tyest bios, so theres no setting options at all. Ive messed with my device id's in appleinteliixata.kext, nothing. Ive also burned/tried about 7 different combinations of patches/install discs. Im so damn frustrated because i keep searching and seeing that most people with the intel 915P have no problem detecting theyre hdd. How exactly should i go about fixing this? Any help people would be greatly appreciated. Should i go about kext editing? If so, which ids should i use (components, im not asking you for my ids i all ready know them) and more importantly, which kext files should i be editing(Appleintelliixata.kext & IOATAfamily.kext right?) I really, really would love any and all input on this, its been driving me f***ing crazy. Thanks...
