zeamp
I've noticed a lot of lower, older Pentium 4 Mobile-based laptops which are, unlike their big brother, only SSE2 and not the SSE3 we desire. I've run into multiple "installation reboot" issues on various SSE2-based laptops using the SSE2/SSE3 build of 10.5.2 Kalyway. My question is this: Is it even worth going SSE2? Is it really this much of a hassle to get things going smooth? I'd love to hear from other SSE2 OSx86'ers, preferably those SSE2 users on a mobile computer (laptop/notebook/umpc, etc.). Does SSE2 still equal "Good," or are we all doomed to buy SSE3 and deal with it? Synaesthesia
I would avoid it. SSE3 Intel is the way to go. SSSE3 if possible...What with Celeron M CPU's the price they are. SSE2 is only alright if you have an SSE2 Machine and wanna try and get OS X running on it. If you're looking at buying a new setup, get SSE3. It's also not as well supported in Leopard as Tiger.
