Jedric
Ok, I got a new drive. I installed EFI v8 and retail DVD 10.5.0. After the install I updated to using combo 10.5.3 following netkas upgrade procedure. update completed ok now I'm stuck on this part. "after it, open this file in textedit - /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1" I named the new drive "System" I cannot find /Volume/System/System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 looks like theres no such file, when I open it its empty. I know the update was installed on the right drive as I got the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext back on it and had to delete it. Any Ideas? SticMAC™
There are a few things you may NOT call your Harddrive!!!!!!!!!!!!! Volumes System Home Users Bin Root, and a few more..... get the point, these are references the operating system uses for itself! God(although I don't think the OS will mind!?) If you used the name "System" and pointed to files on your "Drive" in the applications directory it will say /System/Applications/Kext Helper b7, But there isn't an Applications directory in the System directory!! Jedric
Try /Volumes/System/System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 Sorry thats what I meant I just missed the s in Volumes. I double checked and tried again still nothing. File is empty or non-existent. cyclonefr
I'm not sure I got you but if you installed 10.5.3 to an HDD from another working OSX installation, there won't be such file : the post install scripts are already set during the installation. These scripts are only there if you install 10.5.3 Update on YOUR running OSX installation.
