zeamp
Here's my question, keep in mind that this machine would have to be 1GHz or faster, and SSE3 to meet my needs. What's the cheapest laptop computer, readily available on eBay (U.S.) to throw Leopard on? I know a lot of laptops have issues with the graphics or the touchpad. I'm not looking for new laptops -- hell, they don't even have to make 'em anymore. What's the absolute cheapest used buy for a Hackbook? Synaesthesia
Acer Travelmate 2480. Works perfectly for me, except no ethernet. Basically any GMA 950 Celeron M 4xx Laptop. Don't get Pentium M or Celeron M 3xx. Then you've got your basics covered, OS X will work. As for Sound, Ethernet, Wireless...you're on your own, there are thousands of models out there, each with different chipsets... SticMAC™
I had a HP NX7010 with 2GB memory and I shoved a 160GB HDD in it it ran like a charm! Sound, NIC, Wireless, touchpad with scroll, sold it with 10.5.2 on for CHF157.00 - $152.40! I gave the guy the dockingstation and a bag with it! StiCMAN ps If I could buy it back today I would!
