mccomasd Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Hello everyone. I have been having trouble with my dell Inspiron 1720. Finally I got everything right. Soon I will have a release that is 10.5.2. It will be called Hackbook1720. I have removed all of the non-working Kernels and Kexts that make installation confusing. Also I have loaded all the kexts that will work with the Dell Inspiron 1720. Like Sound, Graphics, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet. So far everything is perfect. But I can not confirm that it will work with every 1720. This is because my 1720 has the 256mb card.(8600 GTS) and others may have the 128mb or the Intel card. If you have a inspiron with a 128mb or intel please tell me so i can send you a test copy in a couple of weeks. Also if you have a Intel Wi-Fi card. Also this will be a English only release which will give me extra room to put some good extra applications too. P.S. If some of you 1720 users have been having trouble with the speed of your install. I have figured that out. I can't fix that with Hackbook1720. The problem is if you picked the 160GB 7200rpm free-fall censor hard-drive. I replaced mine and my install speed went up. It used to take about 10 hours for install to complete. Only thing that i could not get to work was my internal display at full resolution 1920x1200 the max a can get is 1600x1000. Any ideas...? Am running atkos4, and can't get my 24in monitor to work, or sound or wireless...... i have the 256bm card with audigy sound and dual 250gb hard drives. please help!
