Okay So I have shunned from OSx86 for a while now because they never really managed to get OSx86 running flawlessly with all the updating {censored}. I mean no version of OSx86 can manage to run properly by normally installing an update when one is released...has this been worked out yet? I mean..if we're running the Vanilla kernel, why would we still require weird (not to mention very annoying) workarounds like the one with the recent 10.5.3 update. Have they fixed this yet?

Second: I consider installing OSx86 again, but what release should I use? I'd prefer a 10.5.3 release, and not 10.5.2 and then updating it with some weird combo update to 10.5.3. What do you guys recommend?

I actually bought my hardware with OSx86 in mind, so I hope my hardware works fine now for the current day 10.5.3 OSx86 release.

Specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6420

RAM: G.Skill 2gb ddr2 PC3200

Graphics: nVidia XFX 7900GS

Please advice guys! :soldiers: Much appreciated.

It's hard to say for you, you may want to try them all and make your pick. There's several of them such as Jas, Kalyway, iAtkos, Leo4All just to name a few.

Since my motherboard is the same as the one Kalyway use, I pick his/her DVD because it has the most compatible drivers i need.

You can't expect OSx86 to just update as well as a real Mac. It's a hack. Just be grateful it works.

There are always patched updaters or guides to updating to new versions out here on the forum, they're not too difficult.

Any one of the modern 10.5.2 distributions should work on your PC, and you can use Jas or Kalyway's 10.5.3 update...There isn't a 10.5.3 release yet, but there should be one soon..

As for your sig, you can run your Vista partition on VMWare fusion, no problem.
