However, same computer booting linux from a usb drive finds all the attached ide drives. additional info needed to troubleshoot? I have a similar problem, i have a SATA 360GB drive, first 40Gbs partition is Primary,NTFS,active & Xp installed on it, the next 40GB is primary,FAT32 & i wanna use for OSx86 .. I am using (Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.1 OSx86 ) installer DVD.. every thing works fine. Till i get to the disk utility where my SATA Drive isn't located at all... Are there drivers missing ?
