Hi Group,

I am attempting a vanilla install on an Intel DG35EC mother board with a Q6600 and a Apple ATI 2600XT Video card using a 10.5 retail DVD.

I have installed EFI and the retail DVD. I removed the AppleEFIRuntime.kext, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and replaced the AppleSMBIOS.kext, IOATAFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext. Removed the Extensions.mkext

When I boot with -v I get all the way past the network driver loading (onboard is not supported) and I start getting a message

"Package 0 didn't get an HPET"

I have the latest BIOS and enabled HPET.

I have removed bootcache.ext as suggested in other thread, but with not success.

I have also tried boot with -f nohpet =1, again no success.

I feel I am so close.

What can cause this message and how can I get around it?

How can I tell what is causing this?

Thanks

Stuart

Hi

Yep done that. Checked several times, each time removing the Extensions.mext. Still constantly getting the error.

Is there anything I can do to work out which extension is causing the issue?

Can I remove / disable all extensions to confirm that it really caused by an extension?

Is there a boot option for this?

Thanks

Stuart
