I installed 10.4.11 on an old Compaq Evo D500 desktop.

1.7GHz P4 SSE2, 640MB 133SDRAM, 20GB ATA100 HDD, 16MB Nvidia Vanta GPU, AC'97 onboard.

To do this I used the XxX_OSX86_10.4.11rev2 install disc, installing the following:

- Single MBR partition

- Selected ONLY:

- Base Combo SSE2

- All recommended patches (all of them)

- X11 (All)

- Updates (All)

- Intel 82562EZ network driver

- Generic AC'97 sound driver

- Removed the -v (verbose) option from /com.apple.boot.plist/ and changed time from 20 to 5 secs

- Deleted the Geforce.kext from the Extensions folder, this distorted the NVidia Vanta card when scrolling

One thing I can't get to work, a CDROM 48x drive. I Installed OSX from another DVD drive I do not want to use in this system so replaced it by an old IDE CDROM drive. OSX does not see it. How do I get it to work?
