Tucker28
A few weeks ago, I tried to dual boot my OSX installation with Vista. The end result of that was a hosed bootloader because of Vista, and I had to boot using the DVD until I found the steps documented here to get the computer to boot without the DVD again. My HDD is formatted GUID and I'm running Kalyway 10.5.1 with the 10.5.2 combo update. Anyway, today I got it fixed and like I said, the computer boots on its own again. However, since I've fixed this, I've developed a new problem. My graphics performance is very sluggish in general. Typing, dragging windows, etc, all exhibit a definite jitter/stuttering effect that is extremely annoying. It looks as though my frames per second drops to 3 or 4. This is the strange part... when I launch World of Warcraft, the problem completely goes away and the PC runs perfect as long as the game is open. I can switch back to other apps and they're as smooth as they can be... as long as WoW is running. As soon as I quit the game, the problem returns. WoW is the only game I have on the computer, so I am unsure if other games would have the same effect. Before the ill-fated attempt at dual booting, this machine ran like a dream. Any ideas of what can be causing this? Thanks, Scott Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108612-jittery-graphics-performance-in-1052/ Share on other sites
