apowerr
Hello and welcome to the forums Question 1: Your processor supports SSE3 so an OSx86 install is possible. The Radeon Express 200 video card on the other hand is 'unsupported' and QE/CI will not be possible, here is a thread with more information. A decent resolution will be obtainable through callisto. Question 2: Yes it is possible to dual boot OS 10 and Windows. Before trying any partitioning or formatting, be sure to back up your data. You can use this thread to dual boot between Mac OS 10.5.2 and XP. Question 3: Since your processor supports SSE3, any recent disk should be alright for you. I recommend Kalyway 10.5.2, iATKOS 2.0 or Leo4allv3. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108596-majorly-confused/#findComment-770074 Share on other sites
mcgoogles2021
Thank you for how fast you replied! So what exactly is QE/CI? Im not sure if im getting this right either. Are you basically saying i need to use beta drivers? for this to work? Aslo on the callisto page you what one do i download and what do i do with what i downloaded? apowerr
Thank you for how fast you replied! So what exactly is QE/CI? Quartz Extreme and Core Image add hardware acceleration (via GPU) to the window server and applications of Mac OS 10. Without QE, many apps will encounter problems. Im not sure if im getting this right either. Are you basically saying i need to use beta drivers? for this to work? Well, based on what I see in that thread, the beta drivers didn't really go anywhere so it looks like QE/CI for your video card won't be possible. Aslo on the callisto page you what one do i download and what do i do with what i downloaded? You don't need to worry about Callisto until after you have a working install. If you're still interested in OSx86, try installing it (be sure to back up your data) and if you can get a working install, you could always buy a cheap new video card for QE/CI. apowerr
I think ill wait a bit and go with the cheap video card can you give me some cheap compatiable ones? With this wait time i might have i can read into video cards Before you buy a video card, install OS 10 to make sure everything except for video is working and compatible. OS 10 will still boot and everything without QE/CI, it just won't really be that functional for day to day use. You want to make sure everything else works before you spend money on a video card.
