MBowes
I have a dell laptop, specs below, and I decided to install the dell laptop post installer patch to get the battery status working correctly. Sonotone Dell Laptop Patch Now when I try to login I have no mouse and no keyboard. I don't have an external keyboard so I cannot fix it that way. I have tried repairng the permissions from the CD but that doesn't help, so I need to reinstall the original file, which I think is the file in the Topic Title.(Although I could be wrong) At statup I get an error for ACPIPS2.plist , but it could also be ApplePs2Controller.plist, couldn't it. Can somebody tell me a way to reinstall the original file, without being able to actually get into my Hackintosh (I think it gonna probably be by using the terminal from the CD to replace the original file, but i'm only a newb and don't know what to type), Please help I don't want to totally reinstall everything as I have only just got everything to work, and I don't want to reinstall all my programs. Thanks in advance for all help Michael Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108484-no-keyboard-or-mouse-at-startup/ Share on other sites
NightOps
I've had the same problem in the past. I just assumed that I incorrectly installed a KEXT, so I wiped it back to square 1 and reinstalled. Haven't had any problems...yet, but I'd love to know a solution for in, in the event it creeps up again. I think I've had it happen 3 times now on my Latitude D830 with Nvidia NVS 140m graphics. Not sure what's causing it. If I plug in a USB mouse, it works just fine. Too bad I don't have a USB keyboard...but that still doesn't really fix it. Another thing...I normally would choose to have it boot to the login screen. Now I just let it auto log me in, so that way I can at least get to the desktop. SticMAC™
Your'e correct in asuming this.... You most probably selected the, PS2 controller kext on your second install and not on the first! there is a way to load it afterwards If you have a USB mouse and keyboard to help you through it!
