I've looked high and low for a solution to this issue and come up with zilch:

I am attempting to install iATKOS 1.0 on my Alienware m9750, but all I get after launching the install (just after pressing ENTER during the countdown) is the gray Apple screen, and then a message that reads "You Need to Restart Your Computer" - and I get it with both iATKOS releases.

What the heck...!?

Any input would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

Looking forward...

If you are installing it you should be pressing F8 and NOT ENTER! during the countdown! Then at the prompt you can use -v to check the startup in verbose mode!

Thanks guys...

The.Watcher: I did find something about the MD5 problem here, but I'm new at that, so still working on it...

SticMAN: You're very right, and I'm probably lucky to have gotten any attention here without providing something meaningful for you guys to work with.

I'll get a screenshot up A.S.A.P.

Thanks again!

For whatever reason, iATKOS wouldn't load - even tried downloading the images from a different source with fresh burns, and nothing. Instead of ripping my hair out, I tried KALYWAY, and BAM, OSX Leopard 10.5.1!

I should be more specific about WHAT exactly is working, so I've updated my signature with short descripts. It's still a W.I.P., and since I can't seem to find anyone else with a Hackintoshed Alienware® m9750, I'll be covering all the dirty details in my blog.

Good times!

Hey I'm currently trying to make my alienware m9750 a hackintosh as well! I tried to read on the dirty details in your blog but theres no relevant posts there :excl:, I Installed with the kalway disc as well but I experienced a lot of problems, could you be so kind to tell me which kernels you used in installation?

nallen: dont think i dont trust u but can you post the screen cap of system profiler's gfx/display section please? because never seen anyone with two nvidia cards to be able to boot yet... ATI can do it, but never heard NVIDIA yet...

Guys, I apologize for not responding to your questions/concerns. It's been a while since my last visit, and I've since sold the Alienware in favor of a Gateway FX4710 desktop, which should prove much less resistant to change.

@Mysticus: trust me, it booted no problems - both cards recognized (READ HERE). The process of making it happen was a total PITA, but it did work. There are a couple snaps of the laptop in My Flickr Album, but no Leo screens :P Sorry...

Needless to say, this chapter is closed. Look to my blog in the future as I help the new FX achieve oneness with the Maciverse :D

Best Wishes for the New Year,

- Nate
