me999
I have a similar model here, having a similar problem, tried JaS 10.4.8, Kalyway 10.5.2, ToH 10.5 and iAtkos 10.5.4, none of them have booted into the install. Is there a problem with this chipset, do I need to try a different kernel or something? I have been using leoapard x86 on my desktop for a long time and it works very well, I would love to have it on my laptop too !! F10vv3R
Hey I have nearly the exact same error. My laptop's a Toshiba A200, the only thing I can see in common would be the chipset (GM965/ICH8-ME here) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107992-new-laptop-is-hating-all-over-osx/#findComment-888579 Share on other sites
inimicus
Have either of you tried booting with the below? platform=X86PC In the above screenshot, it seems to be auto-detecting the platform as ACPI. Also, try: -x (Safe mode) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107992-new-laptop-is-hating-all-over-osx/#findComment-888587 Share on other sites

Also, try: -x (Safe mode) Hey thanks for that inimicus, I managed to get into the installation using the -x command. My setup fails after the media check, I have tried the first kernel and the second so far. I though that I would have some luck with the second as it stated that it was for laptops. I'll have another go with the other kernels some other time as it takes a while to load everytime it fails. I'm using this guide (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_Guides/Kalyway_DualBoot_10.5.2) and so far I have managed to get to 18) of the OS X part. I saved the installer log and attached it. **EDIT** I tried a couple other kernels, including the vanilla one, adding each time the 2000 series ATi drivers. It will start to install, hard drive is active, get down to under 40 mins estimated and fail with "The Installer could not install some files in \U201c/Volumes/OSX\U201d. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance". "Operation not supported - /Volumes/OSX//System/Library/Filesystems/cddafs.fs/Contents/Resources/cddafs.util" "pkgExtractor exited with error 1 while processing package '/System/Installation/Packages/BaseSystem.pkg'" I don't know if means anything to anyone. Hopefully OP can get back to us about how the install went, before I hijack this thread.
