mkuredjian
The proper ATIRadeon8500.kext loads with my 10.4.4 install on my i600m, but when the window server starts, the image is horribly distorted diagonally. Is there any fix to this problem? I have added the device ID to Info.plist, but I have no other ideas as to what might be going on. Any suggestions? Video Card: ATI Radeon M9 (9000) mobility 32MB Please don't say it doesn't support QE. Any R100 or R200 device should support QE just fine. moomoo
It doesn't support QE. Many people have a radeon 9000 - 9200 in their laptops and all of them are out of luck for QE, CI and opengl. sorry bub. Louis
The 9000-9200 AGP cards would support QE if you could get them to load as AGP devices instead of PCI like now!!!!!! AGP to PCI bridge is the problem here....Apple doesn't need to support it, because it's not in the X86 Macs they sell! Now, I tried to load my card as an AGP device, I used to be able to in 10.4.1, but since 10.4.3, I crash my window server each time... P.S. On G3-G5 Macs, 9200 cards do support QE Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10792-radeon-m9-in-600m/#findComment-68317 Share on other sites
mkuredjian
{censored}. How does one load the kext as an AGP device? Do you have to edit the Info.plist, or does AGP rely on another kext altogether? Louis
{censored}. How does one load the kext as an AGP device? Do you have to edit the Info.plist, or does AGP rely on another kext altogether? Another kext.... In 10.4.1 used to be AppleI386PCI.kext since 10.4.3 no longer used.... In 10.4.3 it's IOPCIFamily.kext.... You have to know the Id # of your bridge to add it in IOPCEFamily.kext..... You get the Id # in Windows or Linux.... P.S. Let me know if it works for you.... No go for me....
