mrlightrail
Hi, all. I have a HP Media Smart Home Server running Windows Home Server, with 2TB of storage available. I am trying to figure out a way to use Time Machine to backup to this device. If it is possible to do this w/o having to reformat a partition on the server, please let me know! Captain Semtex
Hi, all.I have a HP Media Smart Home Server running Windows Home Server, with 2TB of storage available. I am trying to figure out a way to use Time Machine to backup to this device. If it is possible to do this w/o having to reformat a partition on the server, please let me know! HP have released a Mac client for the HP MSS. You must download it from HP.com, You create a share called "Mac" and this is used by Time Machine so you can backup both Mac and Windows PCs. Note: You can't use it to perform a full System Restore. It seems the only network drive that will work is a genuine Time Capsule.
