10.5.3 qe fix and installiton

step 1: download 10.5.3 combo from the apples website (u can not install 10.5.3 threw software update)

step 2: backup important kexts before installation

step 3:open terminal and type sudo -s then

while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done

 

step 4: as the command is running in terminal run the 10.5.3 installer..

step 5: once completed do not restart yet, open this file in textedit - /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1

find there string /System/Library/Extensions/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext and replace it with /System/Library/Extensions/Dsmos.kext

step 6: download nvinstaller41

step 7: download pacifist

step 8: open nvinstaller 41 with pacifist and install it threw pacifist make shore you check yes to over writeing all nv and geforce files

step 9: use kexthelper to reinstall driver like azalia or acpi smbios etc

step 10: once youve finshed it all restart .. on first boot it wiill auto restart on its own then when it does second boot u will be in osx and everthing will be running perfect

 

ps: ive had problem with 10.5.3 acpi and smbios on boot my mouse or keyboard didnt work so make shore u replace ur new smbios and acpi with the old ones before you restart

True, but you can extract the pre instal, post install, and runAtStartup scripts, and since you need to edit the script that replaces the files at 1st reboot it could work.

 

More complex, now that I am seeing the scripts...
