After install, it says completed successfully. Still doesnt work

Computer details:

 

Graphics: Geforce 6150le(256MB) INTEGRATED

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+(2.2ghz)

Main HDD: Seagate 320BG

HDD installing to: External Maxtor 500GB

Motherboard: Asus(Not sure exactly which model, if someone can tell me how to, I will find it out)

 

I have tried to install Leopard 10.5.2 many times. Each time what happens is it says

"Install successful

 

Restart now? Automatic restart in [time counter here starting from 30 seconds]"

 

I select restart and it says in an all black screen

 

"Killing all processes

 

Mach reboot

Done

"

 

Then it just sits there. Doesnt do anything. So I manually restart it, and it gets to the apple loading screen, and freezes.

 

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
