sleeper42
I have a Dell GX260 Pentium 4 2Ghz (SSE2) 1GB RAM nVidia 6200 (256MB) - Natit driver installed I installed the 10.4.8 JaS load on this computer... Logic Express crashes all the time, and everything is slow overall. Granted it's only a P4... but I'm only getting a xBench score of 21.02. It seems like it should be running as well as my old G4 Mac Mini runs...? Yeah? Other scores from other Macs I've tested: G4 533mhz: 26.98 G4 Mac Mini (1.4Ghz - 512MB RAM): 46.51 Mac Mini (1.6Ghz Core Duo - 1GB RAM ): 72.77 Is this what I should expect with this kind of hardware, or do I need a patch or something? Any help would be appreciated. -Morgan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107335-poor-performance/ Share on other sites
sleeper42
Perhaps I need one of the SSE2 patches? I'm not sure if that stuff is bundled in the Jas 10.4.8 distro. Maybe if I could get hardware acceleration on the video card working properly, I'd have better performance. It's a nVidia 6200 with the Natit driver loaded. I've been searching the site, and on Google, but I keep running into a lot of broken links, outdated info, and not getting too far... If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. thanks again, Morgan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107335-poor-performance/#findComment-763022 Share on other sites
