I'm about to attempt to install zephyroth's 10.5.2 patched OSX onto my older skt 939 A64X2 desktop. I have two 250gb HDD's in this. I intend to install OSX on the 2nd HDD that doesn't contain Windows. On this disk, I have two partitions, an empty 50 GB partition that I will use for the installation, and a 200GB partition currently full of stuff. Will this 2nd partition be safe during the OSX install (can I just get away with formatting just the 50gb partition?). I would back my stuff up but I don't really have an extra 200GB HDD laying around/feel like burning 50 DVD-R's. I don't want to loose it either...

Chris,

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure, however I beleve it would be possible. You have to delete the 50Gig volume in compmgmt.msc to allow the Mac to format it as HFS. When I installed mine, I had a USB drive that was 60Gig, so i deleted the default 60gig volume and my install created a 15Gig partition, however I didn't use the same install you have. I have since installed on an internal 80Gig, again using 15Gig for OSX86 and then partitioning 5Gig for Windows Page file, since WinXP and Mac don't run at same time. Is there any way you could do a test install on a removable USB HD first to see what happens before you try on your more important 250Gig?
