hi all,

i tried to install 8f1111 patched with the jas 1111a.Generic.Patch.v4.2b on my laptop:

Acer Travelmate 661 LCI (660 series)

Intel Centrino Pentium M 1,4 GHz (only SSE2)

Intel i855GM Graphics

and got some problems.

With the build 8f1099 and the maxxuss iso patch pack i got kernel panic at installation before entering the graphical install mode, but 8f1111 continues and i could install OS X if it wouldn't be soooooo slow with the graphics or so.

All animations are soooo slow (i.e. 5 sec. for the dropdown of the licence agreement) but mouse movement is normal.

The system cannot be used and i didn't install it over the partition creation step.

Can it be that the SSE3 emulation slowes this down so much or is it s.th. with the graphics adapter although it uses standard vesa modes during installation.... :-(

The same image runs normal on a desktop pc with P4 HT....

i have read that someone has this combination running in this forum.... so, what am i doing wrong?

Has anyone an idea?

thx a lot

P.S: sorry this one should be in the installation forum.... but i cannot move it....

Hi,

VMWare doesn't work for me either... the PAE problem cannot be solved with the paevm=true switch on my laptop :-(

I'm trying 10.4.1 and 10.4.4 today and hope that one of this versions wil work.

Please tell me if you had luck with your 10.4.5.

What PC do you use?

My Desktop configuration is

CPU: AMD Athlon64 3200+ (Newcastle Socket 754 Processor, no NX Support, SSE2)

Motherboard: Gigabyte whit chipset nForce3.

Graphic : ATI Sapphire 9600 256MB (AGP)

Now I'm downloading the 10.4.5. When I have news I tell you. :thumbsdown_anim:

Wow,

10.4.1 via the Dedmoo (?) image works great and it applied jas's patches for having 1400x1050 video mode support.

Sound, LAN and video modes work on my Acer Travelmate 661 LCI with 10.4.1.

It runs really fast but i'm still working on having QE and CI support..... as far as i've read it is possible to get QE support..... let's see if i'm getting it to work.

The only thing not working here is the Intel WLAN chip and my D-Link DWL 122 won't work as far as it uses the PRISM chipset, so i'll buy a WLAN USB adapter that i can use with the laptop.

Having in mind that the 8f1099 and 8f1111 images won't work fast on this laptop i'm trying 10.4.4 soon (in the next 2 days i think).

It's great to have a dual boot MacOSX and WinXP to work on the laptop beside my MAC mini at home.

I'll post again if i get news according my installation of a newer OSX installation.
