kaledh
Hi all, how can u see, I'm new. I got a powerbook on ebay last week. I tested it and used it just to set the drivers for a usb wireless adapter. This sunday (yesterday) I had more free time and I took all my stuff and started to use my new baby. After 3-4 hrs of work (i was sending emails) my screen crushed. I read about problems could I have with the ZD1211 chipset usb adapter with freezing so I closed and reopened the screen...perfect. After 20 min again...close...open...CLOUDS!!! COMING FROM BOTTOM...WHITE...BLUE...TURNING RED...BROWN...BLACK...PINK...PURPLE... I close...wait.... ...pain.. --- open... everithing is ok. Shut down. Power on...perfect...I finish my work...shut down. Good night. This morning I woke up and I had breakfast lestening music...iTunes...reggae...messenger...firefox...ok... but 10 min later... screen crush! Close... GRRRRRRRRRR. open...like new. I close everithing...no internet...nothing. shut down and unplug everithing (I leave just the power adapter). power on...ok. 2 min later screen crush again. close...open...CLOUDS AGAIN! power off...on...CLOUDS!!!!!! What's happened???? I got no drugs. I tryed apple+p+r and apple+o+f Removing battery Pushing every button (also che "play" one on the back) tipping on top and close to the place where I suppose there are graphic card and display wires. Now the question is......... Considering I'm sicilian but far from the tipical stereotypes...if I'll change my opinion about it...what could I do to the ebay seller? Could I use the law (not so "tipical" here)? If someone have suggestion or solutions...well...let me know. "mac psyco-psichedelhic panic" how it sound? Good news...maybe I understood the problem. The usb wifi adapter make jokes with my screen when mac turns in sleep mode...and it evolve psichedelly with no adaptor...the effects of the usb drug happen during the boot if I leave the adapder on. I have to boot the powerbook and than I can plug the wifi key. Woffff!!! I'll give u more updates. to be continued.. FrankOS_Scripting
At my knowledge of technician, I have some clues that it's not link with your Wifi adapter but a physical (or hardware) problem. I'm ready to bet your inverter witch make your high intensity backlight by invert in high voltage (600 volts) for lit your little crystal (LCD) is on the point of non-return. Or simply your LCD is in the way of cloud with Jesus lol... I don't see what the f*** are going on if you Wifi and your PB are the source. Great question my friend Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/106942-help-clouds-on-my-mac-whats-happened/#findComment-760462 Share on other sites
kaledh
I think I have a temperature proble...the ebay seller never stressed this powerbook and I noticed that when I play a dvd the fan o the back is off...and still remain off. I took it of and I've seen that the fan is good...it works with 5v. So...I don't know what there's under the heatsink u can see under the keybord...the g4 and the graphic chip? Hw can I remove this heatsink? I would like to replace it with a copper one I have if it will fit... How can I do to survive my fan? Tnx. kaledh
ok...after 2 days of intensive use and no any clouds or screen crash I realized the fan was the problem. I pulled out the fan from his place and I've seen the fan was good...it works...but when I plug it on my mac no life signs. buh? Now I've nothing close to the heat sink area and I had no more problems (at the moment). maybe I burned the fan connector??? I'll have troubles during this coming hot and sunny summer? tnx for any suggestion.
