Hello, I had this problem as well. Depending on your 10.4.10 install disc, you should be able to fix it by opening the terminal app under utilities and enter the following commands.

from the prompt#

diskutil list

(Hit Enter)

that will list all partitions on your drive. You need to identify the partition that you formatted hfs, it should be something like "disk0s2". Now enter this from the prompt#

diskutil reformat disk0s2

(Hit Enter)

Now quit the Terminal app and your partition should now appear.....

Cheers,

How did you partition the drive? Did you use the Disk Utility from the install disc?

diskutil list sees the drive a NTFS and it cannot mount that format. And it cannot

change the type of format. You are also adding (SomeDisk)...don't!!

the command is:

diskutil reformat disk0s3

disk0s3 is your osx volume, right?

But I don't think that will help, it cannot recognize the NTFS filesystem.

So...what to do.....Back up you HD and start from scratch!!!

You need to partition and format the HD using the OSX install disk.

Set your Linux partitions as "Free Space" the OSX as "Mac Extended Journaled" and

your Windows as "MS Dos Fat"

Your Linux install disk can reformat the linux partitions and windows install will offer a

NTFS reformat.

Sorry, Thats the best thing I can think of....
