Hello,

I don't know why my previous thread was deleted, but...

I have this external hard disk that was formatted in XP, with all my data. But now the problem is that, it can be detected in disk utility, but isn't mounted. Any solutions? Thanks! It is in NTFS, but it should be able to be read right?

I did! :P I tried the installer and it solved my USB problem, like thumbdrives and stuff. It's only my External Hard Disk that doesn't mount! Haha

Hmm there should be no difference. Its all mass storage. Did you try lingon, and create a user deamon?

Thanks for the help. But when I tried the lingon way, it made it worst. USB couldn't even be detected. So I disabled it and installed the installer again and it works again. However, my external hard disk still doesn't work.

Now my external hard disk cannot even be detected by disk utility, only system profiler. :P

Just an update.

I did a reinstall and replaced the System.kext manually as stated in the thread above. Rebooted, and my external hard disk works!

But after the next reboot, it doesn't work anymore, only my thumbdrive works. Hmm.. Any solutions?

And also, whenever I switch off the power of my external drive, a new folder will appear on my Desktop, named external drive, which is the name of my drive. :)
