Daxxie
Hi, I downloaded a 10.4.4 ISO + a PPF patch from a private torrent site (and people there have been reporting success in installing). I am getting an error during the installation process (installing onto a P4 SSE2 machine with an empty hard drive) when it starts trying to install the "Essentials" (I get a BomFileError missing .../Frameworks/A/AddressBook). I try deselecting everything optional in the installer (extra fonts, printer drivers, the "hacked" stuff (amd etc) but I still get that error. I don't see a way to uninstall the "Essentials". There are a few other posters on this forum that seem to have the same problem I was wondering if anybody understands what my problem is (and how to fix it), and maybe what version I am trying to install? I have been trying to find an MD5 checksum that maches my patched iso file, but no luck. My MD5 is 044dc34851a76106eec6f7e474055041 (that is patched iso) Has anybody seen that? I'm wondering if I need to download a different ISO or not. Thanks for your help! This forum (and the users) are really helpful. -C Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10663-installation-problem-1044-dvd-patched/ Share on other sites
adickers
I got the same BomFileError - different files on different occasions. Reading elsewhere here, I found a user who suggested switching out the DVD drive - and darnit - IT WORKED. Try switching to a slightly less new DVD drive - in my case - I used a Pioneer A05 and 10.4.5 installed native to a SATA drive with no trouble at all. theSpam
I don't believe you've applied the PPF yet... I believe that's the MD5 of the original release of the install DVD. Oh, you still need the most of the hacked stuff (excluding the AMD_Enabler, obviously).
