Hi!

I´m downloading Zephyrot´s dist to try again, but how can I do to DVD install recognize my hd Sata?

I tried to install Leopard in a pen drive, but crashes when install is ending... tried in a usb hd too (don´t know if there is a difference).

The big f* problem is that I don´t have a option to change hd mode to AHCI in BIOS, and no bios update in hp website... My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6640. What can I do to install??

Specs:

- AMD 64 x2 (1.8)

- HD SATA (80GB)

- Nvidia geForce GO 7150M

Thanks all!

You need to inject medevils TEST AppleNForceATA kext into the /System/Library/Extensions of the DVD you are booting off of, most likely.

You will also most likely need Chu-Nan's IOPCIFamily and IOPCCardFamily kexts (leopard versions)

If your machine stutters, set the kernel parm idlehalt=0

My F500 seems to also benefit from kernel parm cpus=2

If your video card uses shared memory experiment with setting kernel parm maxmem to this calculated value:

Total System Ram - (amount of shared video ram you have+1) I.E. My machine has 2048MB, my shared VRAM is 128MB +1=129

2048-129=1919. So my maxmem line says:

maxmem=1919

best of luck If you have wireless issues, see my post regarding a possible easy fix.

ciao

Another thought, I wish someone had told me. Booting off the DVD is brutal. Make a 10GB partition and use diskutil to copy the DVD contents to your HD. If you are going to be booting and experimenting with different installation methods or configs. It's also much easier to add or subtract kexts. No burning and reburning of DVD's.
