Ducttapelad
I recently Installed Kalyway 10.5.2 but in order for my PS2 trackpad to work and for the system to run at a reasonable speed I had to disable legacy USB support in my Bios. Now whenever I want to have a usb device plugged in I have to plug it in at boot time which is really inconvenient when I am trying to sync my ipod. Is there any way to fix this so I can use USB w/o enabling the legacy support? I have a toshiba satellite A105-S171, Intel Celeron M Processor, Ati Radeon x200 graphics,
MacThomas
Try changing kernel. I had the same problem. It was solved when I used modbin kernel 9.2.2 (type in bootloader : modbinkernel).

adamsweeting
Plug your iPod in after your machine has booted, then manually load the IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext via terminal Your Ipod will then be detected. There is a way you can get the kext to load at boot by creating a launchd. I used a program called Lingon before - but I noticed in my console that it was trying to load the kext like every 30 seconds. That's probably because I set some parameters wrong. So I just use the manual method whenever I want to hot plug any USB devices - but that's jus my preference.
Ducttapelad
Thanks for the response, I opened terminal, typed sudo -s cd ../../System/Library/Extensions kextload IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext It said kext loaded successfully. but my Ipod still wouldn't mount
