Hi

I've spent the evening googling and reading thru forums and tried everything I can and not got anywhere, so please, can someone help?

This is what I've got / done...

1. 100GB Drive with 1 partition - Vista - working fine only using 41GB space.

2. Used GParted Live CD to reduce that partition to 50GB (leaves 9GB spare)

3. Created a new partition unformatted but primary of the other 50GB

4. Rebooted and checked Vista works - it did.

5. Using EasyBCD Created a new entry in Vista's MBR for OS X

6. Rebooted - checked both there but obv. didn't do anything. Vista still works / boots

7. Using Kalyway 10.5.1 disk installed OS X on the empty partition and using disk utility formatted to

Mac OS X Extended and selected as the disk to install on...

8. Finished Kalyway installation. Everything works in desktop.

9. Reboot.

10. Get the b0 error

11. Try the whole OS X cd, -s, fdisk -e /rev/disk0, flag 2, yada yada yada

12. Reboot

13. HFS+ partition error.

14. OS X CD, -s, fdisk yada yada yada again, but seting setpid write update etc...

15. Reboot

16. HFS+ partition error and no option for vista

Now the option to boot to Vista is obv. gone ,and I CAN boot into OS X by having the CD in but NOT selecting to boot from it...

Please... can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Sorry if it's been asked before, I've searched and nothing has either matched exactly, or that has seemed possible, has worked... :P

I'm finally calling it a night, but I would really appreciate ANY help other than formatting and losing my Vista Partition - need that for VS 2008 / WPF work...

Thanks, very much

btw for what it's worth this is on a Lenovo X60 Tablet... Wifi works, nic works, no sound, no tablet / wacom yet...

Update:

Using Smart Boot Manager from a Dos floppy disk and the Vista CD, and easybcd 1.7.2 I can now boot into Vista

I now have two options on the boot menu 1. Vista (default) and 2. OS X

when I select or let the time run out, vista boots fine.

When I select OS X I get a black blank screen then a second later I get the HFS+ Partition Error

I've used EasyBCD in windows to 'fix' this error, but it still hasn't fixed it.

* Also on a side not, when adding the 2nd boot option in EasyBCD the manuals say there is an option for "Auto-configure Mac settings" but not on my (latest) version - any ideas?

Ok, so it's still not working but at least (for what it's worth) I have Vista back up and running.

Please, anyone any idea how to fix this?

Thanks again

Make a Linux partition, install Ubuntu, it installs Grub. Grub boots everything.

Another option is to switch to a Darwin bootloader that you can select in the Customize option in the Kalyway install disc.

What kind of partition map used for Mac, MBR or GUID?

First off, GParted SUCKS. you dont need to setup an ubuntu partition you just need to boot the ubuntu live cd and use the terminal

type as follows in the terminal

sudo -s

fdisk /dev/sda (sda if its a laptop hda if its a desktop)

p (this command will show your partitions, the one with the asterisk is what is booting)

//* look at which ones have an asterisk and "de-asterisk" them. pay attention to whichever one is your vista partition

a (this commant well set a boot flag (an asterisk)

You will then get an option to pick a partition (1-4) chose the number that has the vista partition and hit enter

p (just to check to make sure the vista partition is the only one with an asterisk

w (this command writes the new partition table)

exit (exits you out of root)

exit ubuntu. restart your comp

your vista will boot, but now there is a winload.exe error. Boot the vista dvd and repair your comp.

get to the command line, and type as such

bootrec.exe /fixMbr

bootrec.exe /fixBoot ( it may be capital F for both of these fixes I cant remember)

exit.

Now you will be able to boot into vista.

Download easyBCD and set up a mac loader. Choose generic and then choose a name for your loader. hit save and exit. you should now be able to boot into the os of your choice
