CTJoyce
My guess is its the 780i board. I had enough trouble with nForce 6 chipsets to be recognized properly that I somehow doubt that nForce 7 is going to be any easier if it ever happens. iSkylla
CT is correct, the nForce boards have some trouble as of now. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105584-new-setup/#findComment-750854 Share on other sites
Novel
I figured as much. My old mobo was an Asus A8N with the Nforce 4 (or 6? Can't remember) and it worked eventually, so I thought there might have been some hope ^.^ But thanks for the tip! cigarettes
After trolling this forum for about 3 years, I realize you HATE when people ask this question...but honestly, I have searched and tried all suggested images and nothing will work... I recently built a new gaming rig... EVGA 780i MoBo EVGA 8800GT 512MB PCi 2.0 Intel E6750 2.66Ghz Core 2 Duo 8GB RAM Vista Home Premium x64 500GB SATA 3.0 HDD 160GB SATA 3.0 HDD (Not in RAID) I want to put OS X onto the 160GB drive and Vista on the 500GB drive, I have downloaded iATKOS, Sepheroth, Kalyway, Leo4All v2 and v3, and some others I can't think of at this moment...but if anyone has this setup or close to it or just has a suggestion....Let me know if anything has worked for you, Thanks! I guess you can say my setup is similar.......Well, not really. Asus Striker Extreme mobo (nforce 680i) EVGA 8800 GTX ACS3 Intel E6600 2.4 ghz core 2 duo 2 gb ram (8 gigs really? daaaamn) vista ult x64 (currently running x86 cause i wanted to try an ipod access utility, and a couple system mechanic/optimizing programs, but they wouldn't install on x64, when will us 64 bit users stop being shafted?) 150gb raptorx SATA WD HDD 500gb SATA WD HDD 200gb IDE WD HDD I am currently having the best luck installing with kalyway ("could not validate the 'java tools' package" error) and iAtkos 2.0, I actually got this to install 100%, but as it hit 100% I got a similar error to kalyway "could not validate the 'Intel 10.5.2" package, or driver, or something". I actually can't boot back into my HD with iatkos, it starts up with the grey apple boot screen, and then after moving to the "click next to continue" screen, it turns completely grey and tells me to reboot my computer (which i have done 100 times). Leo4all v2 and Leo4all V3 both lock up between POST and the agreement screen. So I am even more lost as to that problem (leo4all seems to have a lot of success stories too! But the first 2 actually get incredibly close to installing successfully! So maybe you will have best luck with those. I am so close to getting this to work! I know there is just one small thing I need to do, and as soon as I figure it out, and get OSX installed on this 200gb HD, I will be so happy (I have been wanting a mac, for OSX, for the last 4 years! but i could never afford it). So if anyone reading this has a suggestion, please reply here, or you can reply to my thread: here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=0&p=750297 Sorry for the hijack, try those two "distros" first, and reply with your success. I will do my best to help, as well as post here with whatever I do to make my install stop failing, for future troubled people wishing to run the best operating system on the best PC's.
