soogy Posted March 1, 2006 Share Posted March 1, 2006 I noticed my laptop fan goes on full blast every once in a while. I was wondering what software will allow me to check my fan speed/cpu temp (for the record, I've got a P4-M 2.2ghz SSE2, i852GM chipset without QE and CI). I'd like to know, what are my options (and yes, answers can contradict each other) for cooling my cpu, keeping the fan quiet and/or speeding up the OS? In particular, what can I do with "fn" and "idlehalt" to cool down? Thanks!
