ZeeStorm
So I recently installed leo4allv3 (10.5.2) and it installed perfectly! It appears after 10-15 min of usage, my system locks up. Mouse/keyboard no activity, power button does nothing, have to do a hard/force shutdown. It doesn't matter if I'm actively using the computer or not, it still locks up. I've turned off the sleep/screensaver, etc. that I could find, and it hasn't helped. My system isn't in my signature (am new) but here it is: ASUS K8N-E Deluxe (nforcetest drivers worked, LAN worked, w/ working ALC 850) forcedeth-v AMD X2 4400+, Toledo Core (old school) MSI nVidia 8600GTS, dual HDMI (NVInject 0.2.1) 2x Corsair XMS DDR400 1GB (2GB total) 1x Western Digital 80GB IDE (dedicated HDD to OSX, I have others that are unplugged) Sony SATA DVD burner (works) I've posted this in the leo4allv3 thread, but haven't received any responses. I've done search after search on lock ups, but I can't put my finger on any answer. Does anybody have any tips? I don't know how to find any logs of why the system locked up, or I would jump to it. Is there any? I'm thinking of trying Kalyway 10.5.2 to see if that'll work. Let me know if you got anything... please! eddie11c
Try running repair permissions if you haven't already. Sometimes something with an incorrect permissions can cause this. Another thing to check is that you don't have the option on to put disks to sleep, this will cause lockups on some systems. I already have sleep disabled Update: Found it.. gonna try it, thanks. Update #2: WOOHOO!! It's been roughly 20-30 min and no freeze up! Unfortunately, it's killed my audio output device (no longer thinks there's one), so I reinstalled that kext and will see if it's back to normal (it was working before). ZeeStorm
So after the above, I attempted to fix my audio device with a kext installation. Rebooted and the thing is freezing again :x (and still no audio device). Sigh. Does anybody know if you can run the original ALC850 from the Leo4allv3 installation? I'd like to rip the kext or however audio is installed, seeing that it did originally work. Maybe I can install those kext and repair.. and hopefully my audio device will still work? I'm running out of ideas and my hope of a hacintosh is fading Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105471-leo4allv3-amd-installs-perfect-10-15-min-freeze/#findComment-754104 Share on other sites
