asdfghjkl123456 Posted May 17, 2008 Share Posted May 17, 2008 Hello, I have downloaded Kalyway 10.5.2 AMD/INTEL. I've burnt this to a disc.. Twice. One of those was at 4x speed to eliminate any problems there. The HDD I am trying to install Kalyway onto is an 80Gb Seagate SATA HDD. I place the disc in my optical drive (Pioneer DVD-RW 16x) and then boot from the disc. It boots fine, showing all that information. After all that has completed I get the language selection screen so I chose English. It then says it's setting up installation then I get the next screen where you can continue with the installation. On this screen is where it hangs. It hangs after about 3 seconds, if I am quick enough I can hit continue but it will just then hang on the Terms and Conditions pop up screen. I'm not sure what could be causing this. I really do no want to have to download it again if I'm not 100% positive that the problem lies somewhere within my download as I only have a 256Kb connection and the download process is rather long. I don't know anything about selecting different kernals at the start up and as to whether they will fix my problem. My specs are: Desktop Prebuilt? No Install Methods summary: Uhm.. Put the disc in and boot from disc? Motherboard Manufacturer: Foxconn Motherboard Model: Winfast Nf4k Chipset: Nforce 4 BIOS Version: BIOS setup options: Audio: On board. Works. LAN: On board. Works. SATA & IDE: On board. Works. Processor Processor Model: AMD Athlon 3200+ Speed: Recognized as what in System Profiler: Video Card What type of card : PCI-E NVIDIA/ATI/Intel?: ATI Model: Radeon x1600xt Memory: 256Mb Board Manufacturer: Powercolor Patches used: QE/CI: All resolutions available?: 1GB DDR RAM No Accesories. Only KB&M Any help would be highly appreciated. If I can get this working I will more than likely make a donation to the OSx86 team. Thanks in advanced. asdfghjkl123456 Posted May 17, 2008 Author Share Posted May 17, 2008 Okay. The disc is fine. I confirmed this by testing it in my mums BF's laptop. Boots to the menu and does not crash or hang. Would there be something in the BIOS making it hang that I could disable? Sorry if I haven't been in depth enough on anything. I've tried to be as detailed as possible. asdfghjkl123456 Posted May 18, 2008 Author Share Posted May 18, 2008 Okay, I have managed to install Kaylway by running the installer in safe mode. Now when I got to boot it I get stuck on the boot screen. I see HDD activity for about 10 seconds then that stops and the boot screen stays there with the animation still going.
